The staff is very caring. We met with the Dr who impressed me with the time and care he provided. Diane the Social Services manager went above and beyond a number of times helping us – she even stayed late and came in on her day off to help us! She had trouble contacting one of my Dads Drs and actually drove to the clinic to get the information we needed. She also made arrangements so my Dad can receive home care upon discharge. She gave us outstanding assistance!! Centennial provided transport to a number of Dr appointments which was a Godsend as my Dad has significant mobility issues. My Dad was there for physical therapy but the Dr at Centennial also did an attentive good job managing my Dads various medical issues. The staff there really works hard. Also the front desk staff were so helpful and worked hard in coordinating all the transport for my Dad and the van driver was wonderful also!
How is this place still open? I read nothing but bad reviews on here!
WE GOT MY MOTHER-IN-LAW OUT OF HERE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE! Avoid Centennial if your loved one had a surgery that requires special care in the facility, and care after release.
Thank you Alias for the warning. I hope there will be a serious investigation!
my grandmother was there for nearly 2 months and DIED. stay far far far away from this place if you want to be in there and not be exposed to more things. request a different facility. these nurses do not care nor do they pay any actual attention to patients symptoms. They’re just glorified CNAs who can give medicine. Here’s our story: she was unable to eat or drink anything without peeing it out (diarrhea) or throwing it up the ENTIRE time she was there…. nurses never took her concerns or symptoms seriously only giving her meds and telling her she needs a protein drink and a soft/liquid diet. nurses never took MY concerns seriously. what she needed was a dang GI doctor and nurses who actually care about their job and not just the paycheck. She didn’t have the best state of mind after an pretty significant injury that led her to be there instead of home. but me as an “all there” young adult, they never took my concerns seriously…. she died because they couldn’t figure out that she had sepsis and her organs were failing… How hard is it to figure that out? she never left the facility and did her physical therapy in the facility. she later contracted pneumonia which was ultimately why she died, due to organ failure and sepsis going unnoticed for far too long leaving her “too far gone” to fight the illness. my question is HOW did she get pneumonia? and WHY did nobody notice or care that her health was declining? Was it the nurse she constantly complained about that never washed or sanitized her hands when entering her room? Or the nurse who never washed her hands after helping my grandmother wipe her behind in the bathroom? Was it one of the many nurses who didn’t wear gloves? Was it the lack of masks when nurses were sick while caring for immune compromised individuals? the insane weight loss they never seemed concerned about. 2 months ago she was a little chunky grandma. 2 weeks ago she was thin and brittle to the point i voiced my concerns and the nurses told me she’s “doing much better, hopefully she’ll be going home soon” this place is so bad. please read every poor review carefully and take every 1 star review seriously. If the staff actually cared, she’d probably still be here today instead of being shipped off to the morgue.
Facility does not practice drills to evacuate residents in case of Fire,Flood or Entrapment issues due to a disaster. All staircases are empty and have ZERO anchors, eye-lits or harnesses to remove residents safely. Fire system is outdated from the 80’s and malfunctions constantly, there is not enough staff per residents, the care is bad and residents suffer constantly. I witnessed a resident being abused constantly and reported many times to Administrator but it fell on deaf ears, the employee was never reprimanded or relieved of his position, resident did past shortly after.Maintenance team has no technical training in Electric systems 480 volt or 3 phase systems, they will find themselves in a bad situation leaving the residents to fend for themselves incase of a ELECTRICAL FIRE…..in 2.5 years we NEVER did a drill on how to propel residents safely from upper floors…..Tragedy waiting to happen ….
**UPDATE** Pretty funny how you can reply to my google review to make it look like your company cares, however it has been 2 weeks and there has been ZERO follow through. If I could give negative stars I was sad it forced me to give 1 star. Day 1, we couldn’t even get past day 1, my father is on hospice and was sent somewhere that is supposed to be safe. Prestige was far from that. I must admit after working in a nursing home, and trust me I know no one wants to be in one, but what a disappointment Prestige in Anchorage is!!! My dad just got sent there today and we walked in at dinner time to see him sitting on the edge of a bed, which sitting up without support is difficult and to top it off the lady feeding him was so worried about him making a mess she was feeding him naked?! Who eats naked? Where is the dignity in that. Add to it he is on pureed foods for Swallowing and choking issues and she was feeding him regular food with bread, which is a definite no no. There was no bed alarm and he is a severe fall hazard, and the bed had the smallest side rail I’ve ever seen and it was only by his head. Pretty sad when you are to afraid to leave your loved one somewhere for the care and safety they are supposed to get and they aren’t getting it. Needless to say my dad is home where he’s safer. Like Response from the owner2 weeks ago Hi Chris, we take these claims seriously and are in the process of investigating this further. After less than 24-hours at facility, Prestige discharged elderly disoriented patient after removing his IV medication without consulting with a doctor, his POA, or even friends/family. Sent elderly high-fall-risk patient who was unable to stand or use rest room without assistance HOME ALONE on a holiday weekend with no follow-up care. Was sassy and disrespectful when confronted about potentially lethal non-communication protocols. Patient ended up in ER next day, and admitted back into hospital.

The nurses get a 5 star rating but the management gets a 1. The nurses were awesome, but the management and their rules dealing with Hospice patients with Covid was horrid. Think twice if you are on Hospice and your using them for Respite Care. Find out their policy if your loved one gets Covid while they are there.
At Prestige, the care the number of care staff divided by the number patients they have to care for per shift. There are nurses, CNA’s, to care for the patients, but some requests for service goes unanswered. Level of care is lower than it was at St. Elias. The Wi-Fi works here though. PT and OT works pretty hard getting their to improve their overall health, but it’s not an hour and half to two hours daily, it’s more like half of that. Accept every opportunity for a workout, don’t refuse a workout. It’s to your advantage to improve your health at every chance they offer it. There’s bible study class on Thursdays at 2PM, Sundays Catholic service 11AM, interdenominational service 2PM. Their food quality needs to be tightened up better to be heart healthy and plant-based diet friendly. Some of their foods are very high sodium. They at least don’t always overcooked the protein. More fresh fruit needs to be offered with every meal, not canned fruit.

As a provider trying to contact this facility regarding a current resident, I find it very unprofessional that nobody picks up the phone nor post a message on their website when phones are down. Not conducive to good resident health.

Kind, compassionate staff. Hard working nurses and genuinely caring administration. PT is out of this world. I have worked in health care for many years and have never worked with such conscientious staff before. No one ever wants or plans to need skilled nursing care, but if it was to happen to my own family or myself, I would not hesitate to recommend this facility.
Very good nursing and some of the best CNA I ever had in the 13 plus years I have been going to hospitals . PT , OT & RA have been a big help to seeing a light at the end of this journey . GOD bless and keep the Prestige staff always . Jay
I’ve been a resident for several years now. This place has been a godsend. If I had to place a family member in a facility for care this would be the first place I would turn. Great staff and excellent care. This place is a home more than a hospital.
The staff is kind and helpful. The Activities Director is cheerful and works well with residents and visitors. I am a volunteer and say the rosary with Catholics every Monday.
